A rare and handmade statue by artist Ram Kumar that depicts Gautam Buddha, the Enlightened One. Carved entirely from labradorite gemstone, this Buddha statue radiates in beautiful shades of deep blue, green and golden. This game of colours is also known as Labradorescence and is unique to labradorite gem. The piece shines the most when it is exposed to sunlight, producing magnificent colour flames.

A Buddha Statue can be recognised by some key attributes, that mark it as the depiction of the Enlightened One. Among these attributes are the elongated ear lobes, symbolic of longetivity and refer to Buddha's past as a prince before he renounced the worldly pleasures. Another attribute is the ūrṇā , the circular dot on Buddha's forehead that is symbolic of wisdom.

Following on from his father Mr. Hanuman and grandfather, both accomplished artists in their time, Ram has continued the family tradition.

Working predominantly with semi-precious stones and high grade crystals, his work focuses on Tibetan Buddha figures and Indian gods as Ganesh, Shiva, Buddha, Laxmi and Tibetan Tara. His sculptures radiate grace and elegance as he mixes his art with some very high grade semi-precious gemstones such as Labradorite, Tiger’s eye, Rose quartz and Clear Quartz Crystal. His ability to refine the natural beauty of crystals and gems in his sculptures is unlike anything you will experience.
