K. Ravi, an engineer by education, found his true calling in sculpting, following the footsteps of his father, Mr. Swamy, to uphold the family tradition. His specialization lies in the intricate art of woodwork, where he skillfully crafts interior decorative furniture with artistic flair.
Renowned for his craftsmanship, Ravi excels in producing stunning figures of gods and goddesses, including Kali, Durga, Lakshmi, and various postures of Ganesha. Beyond sculptures, he extends his expertise to crafting ornamental doors utilized in numerous temples across South India, as well as gracing the entrances of affluent family bungalows.
In 2014, K. Ravi received the prestigious Master Craftsman Award from the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Ms. Jayalalitha, a testament to his exceptional skills. More recently, he was honored with an invitation to France by the Indian Consulate, showcasing his talent in contributing to the artistry of a temple overseas.
