Carved from luminous clear quartz, this Buddha head creates a serene expression of peace, awareness, and spiritual awakening. The calm features and meditative presence of the Buddha reflect the qualities of stillness, compassion, and inner wisdom, inviting a sense of tranquillity into any space.

Behind the Buddha, the sculpted Bodhi tree leaf adds another layer of meaning to the piece. The Bodhi tree (Ficus religiosa) is sacred in Buddhist tradition as the tree beneath which Siddhartha Gautama meditated before attaining enlightenment and becoming the Buddha. As a backdrop, the leaf symbolises awakening, spiritual protection, and the focused stillness that supported the Buddha on his path to enlightenment.

The natural clarity of quartz beautifully complements these themes. Traditionally associated with clarity, purification, and amplified energy, clear quartz brings a light and harmonious quality to the sculpture. Together, the crystal and sacred imagery create a meaningful piece representing clarity of mind, inner peace, and the journey towards greater awareness.

ABOUT CLEAR QUARTZ

Clear quartz is one of the most recognisable and versatile natural crystals, prized for its transparency, luminous appearance, and natural crystalline structure. Traditionally associated with clarity, purification, balance, and spiritual awareness, it has been valued across cultures for centuries.

Clear quartz is often regarded as a stone that helps focus intention and create a clear, harmonious atmosphere. Its transparent appearance allows light to move naturally through the crystal, giving each piece a subtle radiance and distinctive character.

Paired with the serene form of the Buddha and the sacred symbolism of the Bodhi tree, clear quartz creates a beautiful expression of awakening and inner stillness. This sculpture is well suited to a meditation space, personal altar, or refined interior, offering both artistic presence and a quiet reminder to remain centred and mindful.

ABOUT THE ARTIST – RAM KUMAR

Born on August 14, 1964, in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Ram Kumar began his artistic training in 1975 under the guidance of his mentor and father, Shree Chotey Lal Kumawat, at just ten years of age. Following a decade of rigorous traditional training, he established his own workshop in 1986.

Over the past four decades, Ram Kumar has developed a distinctive body of work centred on finely carved sculptures created from high-grade semi-precious gemstones and natural crystals. His repertoire includes intricately carved representations of Indian deities such as Ganesha, Buddhist figures including Buddha, the goddess Tara, and a range of traditional decorative forms.

Working with precision diamond tools, Kumar transforms natural gemstones into highly detailed sculptures, allowing the character and beauty of each stone to remain an integral part of the finished work. Inspired by Indian culture and heritage, selected pieces are further enhanced through gold leaf painting or colourful gemstone inlay.

His materials include ruby, emerald, sapphire, rose quartz, lapis lazuli, tiger eye, and other natural stones, each chosen for its individual beauty and symbolic significance.
