This unique depiction of the Buddha is a portrait view of the teacher, elevated from the ground with the support of two metal rods. The artist R. Mani has chosen to depict the master in a circular sandstone frame, which gives the impression of wholeness and is reminiscent of a halo of light. The Buddha is recognised here by the iconic elongated earlobes and snail-shell curls, as well as the half-undone eyelids, signifying that the master is in a state of deep meditation.

The Buddha Head is a popular representation of the master and his characteristics. Statues of Buddha Heads are created to represent the vast wealth of knowledge he possessed, being the awakened one. The artist's skill and technique allows for depiction of the Buddha in perfect form and symmetry, a symmetry that defines a balance between Yin and Yang (feminine and masculine) energies. The artist sees the Buddha as a universal symbol of love, wisdom, enlightenment and absolute peace.
