A wonderfully crafted Green Jade Ganesha by artist Ram Kumar. A unique green jade colour, a beautiful deep turquoise. Ram Kumar is an expert at specifically selecting a stone, of a certain quality and carving a chosen subject matter within that stone. This piece exudes knowledge and a deep sense of calm. It creates a soothing aspect from its colour. Even presenting a lotus flower on the back of the piece which symbolises rising and blooming to reach enlightenment. So along with its colour, the depiction of Ganesha, the lotus flower, and the Jade Stone itself this is a powerful object to bring about good luck and fortune.

Lord Ganesh is a son of Lord Shiva and his wife, Goddess Parvati. Clearly distinguished by his elephant head, Ganesh is a symbol of perseverance, protection, well-being, health, and prosperity. In India, Lord Ganesh is followed by every religion as a welcoming gesture or an introductory deity to start a new chapter in life (job, new house, wedding, etc.). Symbolically, the rat, which is his vahan or vehicle, is a representation of chaos, while a bloated tummy depicts accepting all inhibitions and negativities. Truly, Lord Ganesh brings joys and unlimited bliss to our lives.

Green Jade is a sought after stone due to its ability to bring tranquillity to the spirit and calm wisdom to the mind. Its vibration is soothing and nurturing, making it especially good for addressing emotional issues such as lack of self-worth or confidence. The paler green varieties of Jade serve as an excellent tool in balancing an overrun mind. So using Jade when meditating can be very useful in quieting the mind and enhancing the meditative experience.

Ram Kumar is the artist behind some of our most incredible masterpieces here at Mystik River. Ram Kumar’s sculptures are inspired by Indian and Tibetan Gods and Goddesses. Following on from his father Mr. Hanuman and grandfather, both accomplished artists in their time, Ram has continued the family tradition.

Working predominantly with semi-precious stones and high grade crystals , his work focuses on Tibetan Buddha figures and Indian gods such as Ganesh, Shiva, Buddha, Laxmi and Tibetan Tara. His sculptures radiate grace and elegance as he mixes his art with some very high grade semi-precious gemstones such as Labradorite, Tiger’s eye, Rose quartz and Clear Quartz Crystal. His ability to refine the natural beauty of crystals and gems in his sculptures is unlike anything you will experience.

PS: With all hand made stone and wood sculptures, there might be some natural erosion with cracks and spots, but that adds to the one of a kind pieces that we sell here at Mystik River.
