GEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Lavender Quartz is a rare variety of quartz composed of silicon dioxide (SiO₂), distinguished by its natural soft lilac hue, often attributed to trace elements such as titanium or manganese within the crystal structure. Unlike more common purple quartz varieties, true Lavender Quartz is sourced from very limited deposits, most notably in Brazil, where it occurs in select and specialised localities. It has a Mohs hardness of 7, making it a durable stone suitable for everyday wear. Its specific gravity ranges from approximately 2.65 to 2.66, consistent with other quartz minerals. This gemstone forms in igneous environments, typically within mineral-rich veins and cavities where silica slowly crystallises under specific geological conditions.
