Peridot is a gem-quality variety of the mineral olivine, composed primarily of magnesium iron silicate. Its distinctive green colour ranges from soft olive tones to vivid lime hues, depending on its iron content. With a Mohs hardness of 6.5 to 7, Peridot is relatively durable and suitable for jewellery when handled with care. Major sources include Pakistan, Myanmar, China, Vietnam, and the United States. Natural inclusions and crystalline variations make each stone uniquely beautiful.
