Tanzanite is a rare blue to violet variety of the mineral zoisite and is found almost exclusively in the Merelani Hills of Tanzania. It is known for its pleochroic qualities, displaying flashes of blue, violet, and burgundy tones depending on the angle of light. Tanzanite has a Mohs hardness of 6 to 7 and should be handled with care to preserve its natural beauty. Its rarity and striking colour make each piece especially unique and treasured.
