In this meditative work, de Silva portrays herself through the quiet posture of Buddhist prayer, merging self-observation with spiritual reflection. The eco-printed botanicals form an aura-like field around the profile, as if nature itself participates in the act of contemplation. Rather than depicting likeness, the artist translates an inner state—a
moment of surrender, breath, and stillness. The work suggests that self-portraiture can arise not from physical appearance, but from the qualities one seeks to cultivate: clarity, compassion, and presence. Here, the figure becomes both individual and universal, suspended between earthbound materiality and spiritual intention.
